It Begins with the Sea

Welcome to the world of The Realm found in A Whisper of Angels. I hope you enjoy browsing around these pages and learning about Nicolas’s and Henry’s world. It’s a world that begins with the sea.

My own life began by the sea. I’m an island person, born in Cuba, and the ocean has always been in my blood and in my soul. I live near the sea. It’s a passion that has been reflected in my life-long interest in sea history and lore, which has inspired me to travel to the Cutty Sark in England, the Mystic Sea Port in Connecticut, along with cruises in the Caribbean and visits to the Mediterranean. It’s a passion that has led me also, of course, to adventures in wonderful sea stories.

My all-time favorite sea stories are Herman Melville’s “Billy Budd,” Nathaniel Philbricks’ The Heart of the Sea, and Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. I always wanted and knew that I would write my own sea tale and that’s what A Whisper of Angels is—albeit a bit different-than-most other earthbound sea tales. My novel starts at a wharf side and ends at a seashore, and I hope you enjoy the cruise.
